Insomnia always wins

I told myself I'd go to bed early tonight. And I tried. I was home by 9pm...worked on my resume and mini application for dream job (read on for more info on dream job), and then I had a little skype date with my man and tour of his new place (which was such a bittersweet feeling, it's just missin' a little me) by the time I checked the clock it was already 11 o'clock and my sheets were still in the dryer! I slapped on a deep cleaning mask and started reading blogs to kill some time...now here I am still fully clothed with green face mask which STILL isn't dry at midnight. I cannot foresee bed time in the next hour at least. UGH!

Exactly one week from now I will be spending my first night in Halifax. ALL BY MYSELF...well my roommates will be with me, or at least I hope they will. But since moving away I haven't had my own room or my own space. Throughout Katimavik I either had three other actual roomies or six, yes, six girls shared a basement with no walls for three months. We all survived, but just barely. And for the past two year, I haven't only been sharing my room, but my bed. And everything else in my/ our life was shared. I'm nervous about making this transition from twosie to onesie after a two year stint as a full time twosie. So far, me living at home has kind of put off the reality of this transition for me. But the tour of O's new apartment was a bit of sample of how it's going to be for the next who knows how long. He will have his place, his room, his bed and his life. And I'll have mine. Our lives aren't shared anymore...I guess they are just coexisting, can you even coexist on opposite sides of the country?! {oh I just looked it up in the dictionary and it's considered coexisting as we are both existing at the same time, just not in the same place} This is nothing new, we've done the distance thing before, though it was before I knew life as a twosie. I think it's harder this time around. But there are so many things I've learnt from the last time. Like, don't become a hermit and lose all your friends cause you sulk around and miss your boyfriend all the time, that's probably the most prominent lessons learnt. In all seriousness though, there is also a huge, urrmm, ok, moderately sized part of me that is SO excited to be a onesie in the city. I decided to make a list (in the spirit of school and stuff) of the things I'm excited for...

My own room! MY. OWN. ROOM. to decorate as I please, to keep as clean (or as dirty) as I please, to spend time in as I please. It will be all my own. My special little place to escape from the rest of the world. How exciting is that?! I think I will have to name my room, it's going to deserve a great name! Oh! and I won't have to worry about coming into bed late and waking anyone. Or laying in bed and online window shopping late into the night. Yeah, she is going to need one hell of a name.

School! This is my dream program. I am going into this thing at full force. Having O at work until 9pm my time is going to allow loads of studying, then by the time we chat or have a skype date I will have some homework questions to ask him and it will all work out perfectly.

Dream Jobbbbbb!!! So Katimavik is hiring recruiters, so pretty much just going to schools and gushing about how great the program is in both English and French. I mean, I did meet my boyfriend of 3 years while on Katimavik, how much better can a Katima-story get?! And they are looking for someone interested Public Relations...HELLO! That's just something I will be studying for the next four years or so, no big deal. So yeah, it's perfect. And I've finished almost everything I need for the position. Just need to whip up a killer cover letter and I'm their girl. I pretty much do this job everyday, with every new person I meet, I just need to start getting paid to do it.

Dancing. I am finally going to get my groove back, after a four year hiatus. I need to start shakin' it on a more regular basis. I mean, I did just come in 2nd at the Peake's Trivia dance off so I know I still got it. But, some more professional training would be ideal. I'm thinking maybe adult ballet and a hip hop class?! But it might be fun to mix things up and take belly-dancing or something like that.

Oy! that was a ramble...it's 12:40. my face is dry and now so are my eyes. off to prepare for bed, aiming for dreamland by 1:30. Wish me luck

still searching,
